Frequently asked questions
Everything you might want to know before your first ritual. If your question isn't here, email me at hello@iraskinrituals.com.
Booking and your first visit
How do I book a facial?
Online through my Square Appointments booking page, where you choose your ritual, studio and time. If you'd like help choosing first, email me at hello@iraskinrituals.com.
Where are your studios, and is there parking?
I work from two Perth studios: Calais Rd, Scarborough WA 6019, and 1/3 Sheen St, Subiaco WA 6008, where I'm in on Thursdays and Fridays. Both are by appointment only, with street parking nearby.
Do I need to pay a deposit to book?
No deposit is needed; I just take your card details to secure your booking. For bridal and retreat bookings, payment is taken before the day, and we'll talk it through when we're organising.
How do I change or cancel, and what's your cancellation policy?
You can move or cancel your appointment yourself online up to 48 hours before it; inside 48 hours, please email me at hello@iraskinrituals.com and I'll help. There's no charge with at least 24 hours' notice, 50% of the booking fee within 24 hours, and 100% for same-day cancellations or no-shows.
What happens at my first appointment?
We start by talking about your skin, where you hold tension and what you'd like to feel when you leave, so I can tailor the ritual to you on the day. Please share any health conditions, medications or recent treatments when you book, and we'll go through them together before we begin.
Who will be doing my facial?
Me. I'm Francesca (Fran), the longevity facialist behind IRA Skin Rituals, and I'll perform your ritual when you book at my studios. I trained in the UK with a beauty diploma and dermal industry training, and you can read more about my background on my about page.
The rituals and what happens
Which ritual should I book, and how much is it?
Start with the Ira Signature Ritual (75 min $340, 90 min $380) if jaw tension, puffiness or loss of definition is your main reason for coming. The Ira Cellular Ritual (75 min $380, 90 min $430) adds the full Young Goose protocol to the same hands-on work, the Ira Enzyme Facial (55 min $270) is a skin-focused first introduction to Young Goose, and the Ira Sculpt (30 min $150, Subiaco only) is a shorter sculpting session. You can add PureLift microcurrent for $40 when you book, and you'll find full details on the rituals page, along with what I mean by a longevity facial.
Is the work done by hand or with machines?
The sculpting and buccal massage are always done by hand. PureLift microcurrent is an optional 10-minute add-on for $40 that you can choose when you book, and I'll check it suits you before we add it.
What is NEOLIFTING®?
NEOLIFTING® is a trademarked facial sculpting method that I've trained in; it isn't my own technique. I use it within my rituals, alongside lymphatic drainage and intraoral buccal massage, to work through the facial muscles for tone and contour. You can read more about how I use buccal massage.
Do you offer bridal and on-location facials?
Yes. The Bespoke Bridal Experience brings a full ritual to you and your bridal party wherever you're getting ready, across Perth, Margaret River and the South West, and I also bring facials to retreats and private events. Bridal bookings are quoted individually and retreats are planned with you, so please enquire through those pages.
Results, frequency and aftercare
When will I notice a difference?
Many clients notice less puffiness, a more relaxed jaw and a calmer feeling after one session. The deeper changes build over a series, together with your home care, so I think of this as a practice rather than a one-off. Individual results vary.
How often should I book, and do you offer packages?
To build a foundation, I suggest weekly or fortnightly sessions for your first three to four rituals, then one every three to five weeks, adjusted to your lifestyle and skin goals. My packages make that easier: Ira Release + Lift ($990), Ira Skin + Structure ($1,000) and the Ira 6 Month Ritual ($2,050).
What should I do after my facial?
For 24 hours, skip heavy makeup and intense exercise, drink plenty of water and keep to gentle products. I'll also suggest simple home rituals, like self-massage, to carry the results between sessions.
Suitability and safety
My rituals are facial and massage treatments, not medical care. They don't diagnose or treat any medical or dental condition. They aren't suitable if you have an active infection, recent dental work, certain medical conditions, or are in the first trimester of pregnancy. Always share your health details when you book, and email me at hello@iraskinrituals.com if you're unsure.
Are your facials suitable for sensitive or acne-prone skin?
Yes. I tailor every ritual to your skin, including sensitive, mature, acne-prone and combination skin, and adjust the products and pressure to what your skin needs on the day.
Can I have a facial while I'm pregnant?
I don't treat in the first trimester, but you're welcome to book from the second trimester. In the third trimester it depends on the treatment and how you're feeling, so please get in touch before booking, and check with your doctor or midwife if you're unsure.
Can I have a facial if I've had Botox or fillers?
I recommend waiting 4–5 weeks after Botox or fillers before your ritual. Please tell me about any injectables when you book.
What if I have braces, recent dental work or a cold sore?
Braces and aligners are fine. After dental work, please wait until you've healed or check with your dentist first, and reschedule if you have a cold sore, as I can't treat over an active infection.
Can a facial help with TMJ or jaw clenching?
Many of my clients come for jaw tension, clenching and grinding, and buccal massage works directly on those muscles. It's a facial and massage ritual, not a medical treatment, so if your jaw locks, clicks painfully or your pain is sharp, constant or worsening, please see your dentist, doctor or physio first. There's more on my TMJ and jaw tension page.
Products and shop
Which skincare brands do you use and sell?
My rituals use Young Goose, Odacité and Living Libations, and my shop also stocks OMAD, SIV, HINU and Mother SPF. I'm happy to suggest a home routine after your ritual.
Do you ship, and can I return products?
I ship within Australia only, with free shipping on orders over $300, and orders usually leave within 1–3 business days. Unopened, unused items can be returned if you change your mind, and faulty items are covered by the Australian Consumer Law; the details are on my policies page.
London residency and gift cards
Do you see clients in London?
Yes. I hold a seasonal residency at Takroni Clinic on New Cavendish Street, Marylebone, with its own menu that differs from Perth, and you'll find the London rituals and booking on the London residency page.
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes. Digital gift cards from $100 to $600 are emailed to the recipient, or to you to forward or print, and can be used across my treatment menu or toward products. You can buy one in the shop.
